Russian athletes' facial expressions provoked ridicule on social media

On September 7, Ukrainian athlete Ihor Tsvetov won his second gold medal at the 2024 Paralympic Games. The 30-year-old native of Mykolaiv won the 200-meter race in the T35 class (athletes with musculoskeletal disorders) ahead of Russians Artem Kalashian and Dmitry Safronov.

On September 2, Tsvetov won the 100-meter dash, also finishing ahead of these neutral athletes with Russian passports.

Just like a few days ago, during this award ceremony, both Kalashian and Safronov were again forced to listen to the Ukrainian national anthem. Judging by the expressions on their faces, which were captured in the broadcast, they did not like the process very much.

After the ceremonial part, Tsvetov, like the first time, ignored his Russian rivals, leaving the podium without even turning in their direction.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the one-legged Polish high jumper Lukasz Mamczarz gained immense popularity on social media after his performance at the 2024 Paralympics. His jump in the final of the athletics tournament went viral.
