Russian Olympic champion says Russia "should be asked very seriously" to host the Olympics

Pozdnyakov speaks about the IOC

The head of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), Stanislav Pozdnyakov, has made a spectacularly stupid statement about the possibility of holding the Olympic Games in the aggressor country. The four-time winner of the Games in sabre fencing called the Sochi 2014 competition "the most successful in history," forgetting that after it the Russian state doping system was exposed and many athletes were stripped of their medals.

Pozdnyakov said this in an interview with the propaganda news agency R-Sport. The former saber fencer, who holds the rank of colonel in the Russian Armed Forces, criticized the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and sports federations for the suspension of Russian representatives.

"In order to host the Olympic Games, we have to be asked very seriously by the international community. As soon as they come to their senses and are mature enough to host the Games in a way that will be in demand not only by the current generation but also by future generations, we will be open to dialogue. Russia is a generous soul. Today, despite the difficulties in relations with international sports organizations, they openly admit that those Olympic Games were the most successful in history," Pozdnyakov said.

Earlier, the president of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation (VFGG) Irina Viner called the performance at the Olympics "a clear evil" and the Russian championships the world championships.

Over the weekend, it became known that the Russian national gymnastics team will not compete in international competitions in a neutral status.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, two-time Olympic champion Dmitry Vasilyev called on Russia to stage a coup and seize power in the IOC.
