Daria Bilodid, the youngest world judo champion and Olympic medallist, responded to the deaths of her young colleague Victoria Ivashko and her mother during the Russian shelling of Kyiv on June 1. Daria appealed to the International Judo Federation (IJF) because of the tragedy caused by the Russian Federation.

In her Instagram story, Bilodid spoke about the death of the young judoka and accused the International Federation of pro-Russian policies.

"Today, the Grand Prix in Dushanbe starts, where judokas from Russia will take part. Also today in Kyiv, a Russian missile killed a young judoka Victoria Ivashko and her mother. IJF, are you sure you are doing the right thing?" - Bilodid wrote.

Mykhailo Koshlyak, President of the Ukrainian Judo Federation, also spoke about the 9-year-old girl who died during rocket attacks in the Desnianskyi district.

"Her name is Victoria Ivashko, she had been practicing judo for several years at the Judo Master sports club, and last weekend she was on the tatami at a competition in Kyiv, winning her first victories and dreaming of greater achievements," Koshlyak said.

"Vicky's coach says she was an incredible child, very calm, brave and cheerful, but another attack by Russian missiles took the girl to heaven. To date, 483 children have been killed in the full-scale war in Ukraine," the official added.

Koshlyak stressed that every night Ukrainians do not sleep because endless sirens sound, drones and missiles are flying from Russia.

"Meanwhile, judokas from the Russian army are taking to the world's tatami with the support of the IJF, and today they will start the Dushanbe Grand Prix Olympic qualification tournament. We are burying the children judokas," said the President of the Russian Federation Judo Union.

On the night of June 1, Russian occupation forces attacked Kyiv with rockets. A mother and daughter were killed in the shelling because they could not hit the shelter, which was closed.

On Friday, June 2, Kyiv residents began to bring flowers to the site of the deaths. They also put toys, candy, and lighted lamps, the Kyiv Info Telegram channel reported. There are also children's letters for the deceased 9-year-old Vika.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL reported that the Russian Olympic champion hysterically accused Ukraine of provoking the judo World Cup.
