Father of former light-heavyweight champion Theofimo Lopez (18-1, 13 KOs) Theofimo Lopez Sr. criticized the refereeing of Vasyl Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs) vs Devin Haynie (30-0, 15 KOs). The American coach noted that the Ukrainian boxer was impudently deprived of the victory in his May 20 fight.

Such opinion Lopez Sr. emotionally expressed in an interview to YouTube channel Punsh Drunk Boxing. He noted that Lomachenko showed an incredible boxing in a moment when very few people would bet on him and he proved his superiority over his younger opponent.

"Look at Loma's tears. He showed himself to be real. He showed that he's back. He showed the world a brilliant performance. And that's at his age and when he was already written off. He looked more convincing than he did against Jemaine Ortiz. I know what I'm talking about. He had a very good plan and he should have won. But it was pure corruption. It's horrible. It felt like Putin was sitting right in the middle and judging," Lopez Sr. said.

Before that, the father of the American boxer made a scandal, calling the result of Vasiliy and Devin fight a disgrace of boxing and reminding about the war in Ukraine.

We shall remind that the lightweight fight at MGM Grand Garden Arena between Haynie and Lomachenko passed all 12 rounds and ended by the unanimous decision of the judges 116-112, 115-113, 115-113 in favor of the American. It should be noted that the judges' notes, which were published after the fight, caused a heated debate among experts and fans.

Russian boxer Sergey Kovalev said that fans were swearing at the judges as they left the gym after Haynie won. In addition, the statistics of the fight confirms that the Ukrainian won at least five rounds. In Russia, one of the journalists called the shame of boxing from Lomachenko in the fight.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the day before it became known that Vasyl Lomachenko was suspended from boxing after the fight. Devin Haynie himself pounced with insults on the Ukrainian boxer.

Our compatriot's team demanded that international organizations announce a mandatory rematch. In turn, Lomachenko expressed his confidence that it would be difficult for him to fight again for the title of absolute world champion.
