Pleased the occupiers: video of McGregor's reaction to the Russian anthem at the tournament in the UAE appeared online
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Conor McGregor became a guest of a boxing show in the United Arab Emirates organized by the International Boxing Association (IBA). The organization is headed by Russian Umar Kremlev, who allowed his compatriots to compete with the national flag and anthem.
The main fight of the IBA Champions' Night tournament was a 10-round confrontation between Albert Batyrgaziev (11-0, 7 KOs) from Russia and Lazaro Alvarez (6-1, 3 KOs) from Cuba. Before the opening bell, the anthem of the aggressor country was played in the arena, and the corresponding video was published by the propaganda outlet Ura.ru.
The video shows that McGregor and the audience listened attentively to the anthem of the Russian terrorist state, with the end of the video greeted with applause. After Batyrgaziev's victory, the Irishman presented the Russian with the IBA Pro championship belt and held a duel of glances with Russian representative Pyotr Yan.
McGregor felt great in the company of representatives of the aggressor country and drank with Kremlev. The latter, we recall, not only returned Russians to tournaments but also imposed sanctions on Ukraine. It should be noted that the ring announcer was the legendary Michael Buffer.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Russian boxer Bahram Murtazaliev (19-0, 14 KOs), who fights in the second middleweight division, complained that he could not take part in fights under the Russian flag.
