"Mom, I have nothing to breathe": new details of Viacheslav Uzelkov's death revealed
The famous Ukrainian boxer Viacheslav Uzelkov, who passed away on November 9, had been having breathing problems in the weeks before his death. The former athlete intended to go for treatment in Kyiv, but did not have time to do so, and on the first day of the month was hospitalized in a Vinnytsia hospital.
Viacheslav's mother, Zinaida Uzelkova, told Focus about this in an interview. According to her, since November 1, the former boxer has been on a ventilator. In addition, at some point, doctors noticed an improvement in her husband's tests.
"He had a big blood clot on his heart and many blood clots all over his body, but when he died, he only had one blood clot on his heart. Those blood clots had 'dissolved'. He was given various medications that helped. And the doctors even said that he was getting better, they just needed to raise his hemoglobin, and they would take care of his heart," said Uzelkov's mother.
She also recalled the last conversation she had with her son. "The last thing he said was: "Mom, I don't have anything to breathe, I'm going to Kyiv." Before he had to leave, he brought me his dog. His dog was with me as if he felt something because he hugged me so much, you can't imagine how he hugs me," the woman shared her emotions.
Earlier, former world lightweight champion Alina Shaternikova spoke about the details of Uzelkov's death. The former boxer's son Robert made a strange act on social media after his father's funeral, which took place on November 11.
As a reminder, Uzelkov left a mark in Ukraine not only with his sporting achievements but also with high-profile scandals. His life contained both great victories and difficult moments that made his personality even more noticeable and vivid.
After Viacheslav's death, his ex-wife Maryna Borzhemska reacted to the tragedy. In turn, MP Mariana Bezuhla left a cynical post on Telegram. And host Ihor Kondratiuk recalled his last conversation with the former boxer.
