Lomachenko commented on his first defeat to Haney

Former three-division world champion Vasyl Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs) does not understand why he lost after the WBO, WBC, IBF, WBA light-heavyweight titleholder Devin Haney (30-0, 15 KOs). During the press conference, Loma could not answer the reporter's question about what he had to do in the ring to win the belt.

Vasyl admitted that when he went to the 12th round, he realized that he could concentrate more on defense and give his opponent this round.

"Because I don't need it, because I won in the 11th. I think so, I don't claim it. But as I went through the 11th round, I knew he was mine. I don't know. Maybe I don't know about boxing," said the Ukrainian.

Loma considers one moment when he shook Haney.

"I think it was in the tenth round - I don't remember a hundred percent. But one time I saw that he was in a bad situation. However, I knew that I had to continue to stick to my strategy and focus on it," the boxer from Ukraine admitted.

Vasyl disagreed with the assertion that he had behaved dirty.

"You watched the fight. Did you see any dirty moments on my part? That's the answer to the question of whether I'm a dirty fighter. Maybe he was trying to play psychological games. Maybe that was part of his plan. You better ask him what he meant, because I don't understand," summed up Lomachenko at the post-fight press conference with Haney.

As OBOZREVATEL reported, the lightweight fight at MGM Grand Garden Arena went all 12 rounds and ended with a unanimous decision of the judges 116-112, 115-113, 115-113 in favor of the American.

After the defeat, Lomachenko could not contain his emotions and burst into tears while waiting for the press conference.
