It's all about poverty: Habib answers the question of why Russians worship Putin

Khabib speaks about Putin's rating

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has named poverty in Russia as one of the reasons for the high support for dictator Vladimir Putin. The former lightweight fighter noted that the residents of the aggressor country "enjoy simple things" and are "proud of traditions" without earning much money.

Khabib said this in an interview with the PBD Podcast YouTube channel. At the same time, Nurmagomedov stressed that Americans are very different from Russians - US citizens do not care about politics. He added that he feels most comfortable only in the United States.

"Russians are happy about simple things. People do not earn $5-10 thousand a month. I'm from Dagestan - we don't need much. We are proud of our traditions, and talking to our mothers is the most important thing for us. I've been living in the US since 2012, for 11 years. I'm familiar with the mentality of Americans, Russians are completely different. But I love the people of the United States, they are wonderful people. They don't care about politics or anything else. This is the only country where no one touches me or bothers me. I had a chance to get into politics, but I'm not interested in it. I want to be an ordinary person," Habib said.

Earlier, the head of the UFC Dana White called the fight between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg the biggest in the history of martial arts, mentioning dictator Vladimir Putin.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the president of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation (VFHG) Irina Viner said that Russia uses sports for propaganda purposes of the Vladimir Putin regime.
