The head of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Dana White, has reacted angrily to Oleksandr Usyk 's (22-0, 14 KOs) refusal to give up the International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt. The functionary called it outrageous that the Ukrainian had to take such a step, as a result of which he ceased to be the absolute world heavyweight champion.

White said this in an interview with The Mac Life YouTube channel. According to the UFC head, he really hoped that the organizers of the fight nights from Saudi Arabia would be able to resolve the issue with Usyk's status and help him save it for a rematch with Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs).

"It's a disgrace, and I think a man like Turki al-Sheikh has to deal with it. He organizes fights that no one else can organize. Usyk vs. Fury, it was an interesting fight. Sheikh Turki has his own vision for this sport, and I think he will do everything possible to make sure that this doesn't happen in the future," White said.

Earlier it became known that Usyk was in a desperate situation and was forced to give up the IBF belt. Recently, Fury challenged the result of the fight against Usyk on May 18. Prior to that, Tyson first named the reason for his defeat in the fight with Oleksandr. In addition, the Briton was involved in a drunken scandal that alarmed his camp.

Ukrainian Oleksandr also announced his radical plan to continue his career after the rematch with Tyson. Usyk named the most difficult moment of the fight with the Briton. Our boxer also spoke frankly about his opponent.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, British media said that a real war was unfolding in world boxing over the title of Oleksandr Usyk.
