The Latvian ice hockey team lost to Canada in the semi-final of the World Championship. The game in Tampere, Finland, ended with a score of 4:2.

The game began well for the Latvians, who made it to this stage of the tournament for the first time in history. Harijs Vitolins' wards, spurred on by their fans, had already opened the scoring in the eighth minute.

Canada evened the score in the second period and managed to turn the game around in the third. Already in the 48th second, Jack Quinn scored an incredible puck from almost zero angles.

And in the ninth minute, 18-year-old prodigy Adam Fantilli converted a solo pass.

The confused Latvians could not get the game into overtime in the remaining time. In the final seconds, the Canadians scored their fourth puck into an empty net when the Latvian national team removed their goalie.

At 6:20 p.m. Kyiv time, the second U.S.-Germany semifinal kicked off.

Note that a week ago, Russia's main propaganda TV channel , Match TV, stopped broadcasting Latvia's matches at the Ice Hockey World Cup, eliminating both live broadcasts and replays.
