Haney shoved Lomachenko before the fight

Absolute light-welterweight champion of the world Devin Haney (30-0, 15 KOs) promised to donate some money to support Ukraine after he was fined by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for pushing Vasyl Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs) at the weigh-in ceremony before the May 20 fight. The American was sure he would have to pay $400,000, but the amount of the penalty is much less.

According to ESPN Ringside, Haynie on his Twitter page thanked the commission for only being fined $25, 000 and announced help for the Ukrainian people.

"Оh. Thank you to the Nevada State Commission for getting most of my 400,000 back. I will give some of the money to Ukraine," the boxer wrote. However, he later deleted his message.

Haynie himself attributed this to the wave of heckling that had fallen on him. Many Americans rebuked the boxer for financial support of Ukrainians, reminding him of the problems in America itself, as well as the help of the U.S. government. Some fans demanded Devin to give Lomachenko a rematch.

Recall that Vasyl Lomachenko lost to Devin Haney by unanimous decision of the judges, which caused a lot of controversy among fans and experts. United heavyweight champion Alexander Usik (20-0, 13 KOs) called it a robbery of the Ukrainian.

American catman and trainer Russ Anber said that he reviewed Vasyl and Devin's fight three times and every time he gave the win to Lomachenko. And the World Boxing Organization (WBO) deprived the Ukrainian of the first place in its ranking.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the day before Vasyl Lomachenko posted a video in the social network Instagram condemning the Russian patriarch Kirill and the Russian Orthodox Church for supporting the war in Ukraine, for which he was attacked by fans from the aggressor country.
