"Bastards": Russia says the West has allegedly set Valiyeva up in the doping case

Kamila Valiyeva disqualified for doping

President of the Sambo-70 Sports and Education Center Renat Laishev has once again tried to clear figure skater Kamila Valiyeva's reputation, saying she did not take doping and that the whole scandal was set up by Western countries. The ardent fan of dictator Vladimir Putin lashed out at the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Laishev hypocritically stated this in an interview with the propaganda news agency R-Sport. The head of the Moscow Sambo Federation expressed his fantasies about winning the battle against international organizations with which Russians have "nothing to talk about" with outright disdain and arrogance.

"Kamila Valiyeva is a victim of Western lies. These bastards are attacking us from all sides. They do not see God, and we still have to discuss something with them. They are freaks, both in WADA and the IOC. Everything else is childish babble. We have nothing to talk to them about, and we will defeat them. And we will win. I am absolutely sure that she is completely clean, she was, is and will be one of the best figure skaters in the world. And an Olympic champion for millions of figure skating fans," Laishev said.

As a reminder, the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne (CAS) found Valiyeva guilty of violating anti-doping rules and disqualified her for four years. After that, the Russian national team was deprived of the gold medal in the team figure skating competition at the 2022 Olympics. Later it became known that in court, the Russian Federation was unable to prove even the existence of Kamila's grandfather, who allegedly gave her the banned substances.
