Vdovin spoke out about the Games in Paris

Three-time Paralympic track and field champion Andrei Vdovin complained that athletes from Russia were not given smartphones during the 2024 Games. The athlete called it "the only negative moment" in relation to the representatives of the aggressor country.

Vdovin told about this in an interview with the portal Metaratings.ru. According to him, the Russians, who at the Paralympics-2024 in Paris performed under a neutral flag and without national symbols, demanded explanations from the organizers, and in response they were called an unofficial delegation.

"It was unpleasant that all athletes are given gifts, and we were nationally deprived. We appealed to the official representatives of the Paralympic sponsor. We were told: you are an unofficial delegation, so you are not entitled. At that moment we were upset, but then we thought: well, they didn't give us phones, so it's fine. But we won medals. That was the only negative moment at the Paralympic Games with regard to the Russians," Vdovin said.

Note that the tradition, according to which the participants of the Olympic and Paralympic games receive phones as a gift, appeared in 2014.
