The final part of the 2028 European Football Championship will be held in the United Kingdom and Ireland. This became known after Turkey withdrew its application to host the tournament.
This is reported by the official website of the European Football Union (UEFA). It is noted that Turkey has decided to focus on the fight for the right to organize the 2032 championship with Italy.
Thus, five countries - England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland - will host Euro 2028. They will be finally approved as the hosts of the championship on October 10 at the UEFA Executive Committee. The organizers of Euro 2032 will also be named there.
It should be noted that British teams will not be able to receive automatic tickets to the tournament, as according to UEFA rules, a place at the European Championship can be reserved for a maximum of two host teams.
Earlier, UEFA was still hesitant to suspend the head of the Russian Football Union 's (RFU) refereeing department, Milorad Mazic, from working at Shakhtar Donetsk's Champions League match.
