"Does nothing, walks around": Usyk's ex-teacher speaks out against mockery of Fury

Watamaniuk spoke about the Usyk-Fury fight

Vice-President of the Ukrainian Boxing Federation Serhiy Vatamanyuk called for a serious attitude to the heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs). The former trainer of Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) noted that the fight against Francis Ngannou is not an ordinary show, and the Gypsy King, as the Manchester native is called, will not play around in the ring.

Watamaniuk said this in an interview with LuckyPunch. He noted that Fury's disparaging remarks about Usyk should not be misleading, as in fact the British champion will be seriously preparing for a confrontation with our compatriot.

"I do not believe that any boxing match, even an exhibition one, is just a show. First of all, both Fury and Ngannou are big guys, heavy. They are both champions in their respective sports. So it's definitely not just a show. Also, we shouldn't forget that there is such a thing as an injury or a cut. Let's hope that no one will get injured, but this factor cannot be dismissed. Boxing skills should not be discounted either, as heavyweights are known to hit very hard. As for whether this fight will affect Fury's preparations for the fight with Usyk, I don't know, because Tyson is such an interesting character who shows everyone that he does nothing, walks around, but actually works hard in the gym," said Vatamanyuk.

Earlier, the details of the contract between Usyk and Fury, who signed an agreement for the superfight on September 29, became known. Promoter Bob Arum named a prerequisite for the fight. The media found out that the fight will take place before the New Year or in January.

Recently, the legendary Mike Tyson voiced his forecast for the superfight of the year. Fury's promoter Bob Arum said that his client would receive a 9-figure sum for the fight with the Ukrainian and named a prerequisite for the fight.

Carl Froch, former world middleweight champion, told what will happen in the fight between Usyk and "Fat Fury." This is the first time the Ukrainian has reacted to the announcement of the fight. It also became known that the fight between Oleksandr and Tyson is threatened by the court.

As OBOZREVATEL reported earlier, Russian fans have started wishing Oleksandr Usyk a defeat against Tyson Fury. The legendary Mike Tyson gave his prediction of the fight between the Ukrainian and the Briton.

The former rival of our champion Mairis Briedis also spoke about the fight. Former Russian champion Dmitry Kudryashov pointed out what Usyk will do in the confrontation.
