"Defeat is an orphan": Russian national team coach complains that "rats are running away" from Russia

Rotenberg spoke about the difficult situation in Russia

The head coach of the Russia 25 hockey team, Roman Rotenberg, has stated with pathos that the aggressor country will "become even stronger" after the war in Ukraine ends. At the same time, the nephew of dictator Vladimir Putin's well-known friend Arkady Rotenberg spoke of Russia's defeat and "rats" "running away from the ship".

The coach of SKA St. Petersburg said this in an interview with the propaganda TV channel Match TV. He was outraged by those Russians who condemned Russia's invasion of Ukraine and left the country, calling them traitors.

"I don't understand those people who grew up in Russia, but go overseas and bark something from there. They grew up here! Russia is their homeland! And without their homeland, they are nothing! You should always appreciate where you grew up. If you grew up in Russia, you need to appreciate your ancestors and your culture. But in life, it happens when you find out who is who in a difficult situation. As they say, "victory has many friends, and defeat is an orphan". Or another expression: "Rats are running away from the ship". When all this is over, our guys will be with us. Our people, true patriots, and our country will become even stronger," Rotenberg said.

Earlier, the Russia 25 team lost to Belarus at the Qazaqstan Hockey Open 2023 tournament. The meeting in Astana ended with a score of 4-7. Rotenberg made ridiculous excuses for this failure.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Roman Rotenberg's first interview as head coach of the Russia 25 team caused a violent reaction from Russian fans.
