"Cure zombiefication": the world champion who betrayed Ukraine, invented a new goal of Russia in the war

Karjakin supported RF's move to Asia

Former world rapid chess champion Sergey Karjakin has once again supported Russia's criminal war against Ukraine. The Simferopol native, who took citizenship of the aggressor country in 2016, made up new nonsense that the Russian army is conducting liberation battles to "cure zombification" in Ukrainians.

This absurd idea was expressed by an ardent fan of Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin in an interview with the propaganda news agency RIA Novosti. In Karyakin's opinion, Ukrainians are detached from reality and do not understand what is really happening.

"There is total zombification in Ukraine. When people have been deceived for many years, most of them succumb to it. It takes time for people to realize what is really happening and that everything is not as they are told. But it's not going to happen right away. It comes back to the fact that we need a victory here and the liberation of the cities for people to realize," the grandmaster snobbishly stated.

Earlier, Karjakin was disqualified for supporting the war in Ukraine for six months. The chess player admired how "nobly Russia is fighting the war without killing civilians." In response, FIDE Director General Emil Sutovsky harshly said that he had "made himself a patriot" of Russia.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Russian fans called Sergey Karjakin vile after he became the first deputy head of the commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation on physical culture, sports and healthy lifestyle.
