Ukrainian rowing champion and participant of the 2011 Junior World Championship Andriy Kyrychenko died in the war with Russian occupants in Donetsk region, the Rowing Federation of Ukraine has said on Facebook. The titled athlete joined the AFU from the first days of the full-scale invasion, having received the call sign Kerya.

Andrшн graduated from Dniprodzerzhynsk Metallurgical College in 2003. During 2003-2004, he did his military service. From 2005 to 2014 he worked in the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk region and at Dnipro Metallurgical Plant for a long time.

He was left with a wife, two sons and a sister.

The tragedy happened back on July 15, but the death of the hero became known only the day before.

The deceased warrior was 40 years old. He has a wife and three children. Both sons followed in their father's footsteps and are also involved in rowing.

The farewell took place in Andriy's homeland, Kamiaske.
