Our titled boxer posted a video on Instagram

WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF super-heavyweight titleholder Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) congratulated everyone on the upcoming year 2024. The video was posted on his Instagram a few hours before midnight.

Usyk wished everyone strength, victory, joy and health, agreeing that it is not easy for everyone now, because Ukraine is fighting for its victory, and it cannot be easy on this path.

"I want to wish you strength, patience and, of course, unity in the new year, which is what we lack so much. I mean unity. Someone did less, someone did more. Everyone is doing as much as they can, and only together we are strong, only together we are victorious. Glory to Ukraine!" - said Oleksandr.

On February 17, 2024, Usyk will fight for the absolute heavyweight championship against Tyson Fury in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Former cruiserweight world champion and now boxing analyst Johnny Nelson suggests that this fight will not take place on the specified date.

Earlier this evening was scheduled for December 23, but Tyson Fury was diagnosed with an autopsy during his fight with Francis Ngannou and the fight was postponed. Before that, Oleksandr Usyk fought Daniel Dubois, where he won by knockout.

This is the first fight for the title of absolute world champion in the era of four belts. The last absolute champion in heavyweight was Lennox Lewis - in 1999, he held the WBA, WBC and IBF belts, which was enough for such a title.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, former world champion in four weight categories Roy Jones Jr. expressed confidence that Oleksandr will face his main problem in the fight with Tyson - the lack of a powerful knockout punch.
