Some seemingly insignificant symptoms, which people often ignore, may indicate problems in the body. It is important to notice them in time and go to the doctor, get tested, undergo diagnostics to accurately identify the problem and eliminate it.

Ukrainian doctor, adviser to the mayor of Lviv on medical issues Taras Zhiravetsky told about conditions to pay attention to on his Facebook page. As he noted, the human body is a very intelligent system because "when different diseases occur, it tries to help us understand their causes".

"Even small and imperceptible changes in the functioning of different systems can speak of very serious problems of internal organs," the specialist wrote.

1. Dry mouth

This symptom, according to Zhiravetsky, can be a reaction to stress and worry.

If the dryness does not go away and you notice that you have become more irritable, you may be lacking vitamin B3 (nicotinic acid). It is found in poultry, nuts, beef, and sprouted wheat germ.

Dry mouth can also indicate diabetes mellitus or systemic diseases (Sjögren's syndrome).

2. Bluish spots on the skin

This indicates problems with blood clotting or liver function. To find out the cause, you need to take some tests. You can start with a general blood test, in which the platelet count is important.

3. Swollen eyelids

If this is accompanied by a feeling of general brokenness, cold and pale skin, the problem may be "hidden" in the kidneys, heart, thyroid gland. Dermatomyositis is not excluded.

4. Frequent nosebleeds

This could be due to high blood pressure or vitamin K deficiency.

"You'll have to put on kale, spinach, and nettle soup and be examined by a cardiologist," Zhiravetsky wrote.

5. Chapped lips

If along with this symptom you notice muscle weakness in the corners of the mouth, problems with concentration, hair loss, then the body lacks vitamin B2 (riboflavin).

Dairy products, eggs, peanuts, peaches, soybeans, pears, tomatoes, and cauliflower can help replenish B2 levels. In addition, ascaridosis and candidiasis are often such problems.

6. White plaque on the tongue

Zhiravetsky noted that in this case, you are either hungry, have a cold, or have candidiasis. But if redness of the edges of the tongue appears along with white plaque, it may indicate gastritis.

7. Pale gray plaque on the tongue

It is most likely a gastrointestinal disorder. Additional symptoms, such as a slight swelling of the lips and dry skin, indicate iron deficiency. Black coffee and tea interfere with its absorption, so you need to reduce your intake of these drinks. The doctor also advises eating more parsley, liver, fish, ceps, apples, and citrus fruits. Blood tests can be done to determine iron.

8. Bad breath (halitosis)

This phenomenon can indicate gastrointestinal problems, diabetes, kidney, dental or liver problems (ammonia odor), bronchitis (putrid smell). It can also occur with low-quality, cheap coffee.

9. Flaky skin

It is possible that the body lacks vitamins A and B2, which can be corrected with a proper diet. But if the flaking is accompanied by severe itching, you should consult a doctor, because it can be a symptom of allergies or fungal infections.

10. Painful eye sensitivity to bright light

zhiravetsky called it "payback for alcohol and tobacco abuse. Sometimes it can be a symptom of pollinosis - an allergy to flowering plants (then you need to be tested for the concentration of total IgE in the blood serum). You may be deficient in vitamin A, and then you need to eat more cheese, carrots, tomatoes.

Increased lymph nodes indicate that there is an inflammatory process in the body and you need to look for the cause. It is also a symptom of blood diseases, in which case you need to visit a hematologist.

11. Dark urine

Such a reaction of the body will be if you drink too little fluid. However, if such a symptom is accompanied by high fever and weakness, serious diseases of the genitourinary system are not excluded. A urologist or nephrologist can help figure this out, and diagnosis can begin with a general urinalysis.

12. Slow wound healing

This is a symptom of zinc deficiency. To make up for it, you need to eat more seafood and legumes.

It is also common with diabetes and autoimmune diseases.

13. Changes in the color of the whites of the eyes, bruises and dark circles under the eyes

If the eyes are red, it could be because of high blood pressure. If they become yellow, liver function is impaired.

Proper rest may help with bruising or dark circles caused by fatigue and lack of sleep. If fatigue is not the problem, you may want to see a cardiologist to rule out a heart problem.

14. Increased Sweating

The doctor advises checking the thyroid gland. If increased sweating occurs at night, it is a sign of nervous exhaustion.

15. Pimples and blackheads on the face

Small and slightly red pimples on the cheeks can be a symptom of allergies. Intestinal problems are indicated by white "pustules" on the cheeks.

Acne on the temples is a symptom of liver or gallbladder problems. It is best to consult a doctor.

Red acne on the chin and lower jaw is a symptom of disorders in the production of sex hormones or inflammations and infections of the urogenital system. Giravetsky believes that in this case, a visit to the doctor is mandatory.

A rash on the forehead or part of the head covered with hair is a signal of stomach problems. You can do days of unloading on each of these foods: kefir, juice, buckwheat, rice, cucumbers or any fruit. A consultation with a gastroenterologist can help clarify the problem.

16. Swelling

Swelling can result from the consumption of foods that retain water in the body: salty food, alcohol, dishes rich in carbohydrates, canned and smoked foods.

"Kidney" swellings appear on the face in the morning and fall in the evening. They are usually pale, friable, and retain a trace of pressure for a long time.

"Cardiac" swelling appears closer to the evening in the abdomen, lower back, and genital areas. Other symptoms may also appear: shortness of breath, blueness of the lips, fingers and toes, swollen cervical veins.

"Liver" edema appears in the abdominal area with vascular stars, itching, and yellowish skin in the area of the edema. If the swelling is red and itchy, it is an allergic reaction.

If your joints hurt, you may have gout (you need to take a blood test for uric acid) or even a serious autoimmune disease. While gout can be corrected with diet, systemic autoimmune diseases can only be controlled by a rheumatologist.

"The sooner you get help, get diagnosed, the sooner you can correct the cause of the imbalance in your body and regain your lost health!" - Zhiravetsky concluded.
