The Cabinet of Ministers has shortened the time limit for urgent issuance and exchange of a Ukrainian passport. Now, instead of 10 days, it is 7 days.

This was announced by the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk. He noted that the changes do not apply to the first passport issuance.

"The term for providing an administrative service for the urgent issuance (including replacement of a lost or stolen passport) and exchange of a passport of a citizen of Ukraine has been reduced from 10 to 7 working days, except for issuing a passport of a citizen of Ukraine for the first time," the statement said.

At the same time, it is noted that the list of administrative services has been supplemented by the service of simultaneous issuance and exchange of a passport of a citizen of Ukraine and a passport/passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad. This includes the replacement of a lost or stolen document.

How much does it cost to issue a passport

At the same time, starting from October 7, the cost of passport and migration service packages at the subdivisions of SE "Document" has changed in Ukraine. Now:

  • Issuance of passport documents for Ukrainian citizens costs 650 UAH.

This service includes both the production of an internal passport of a citizen of Ukraine and a foreign passport.

  • Migration documents for foreigners and stateless persons cost UAH 1,250.

This includes issuance of residence permits and other documents confirming the legality of staying in Ukraine.

  • Exchange of a driver's license – UAH 950.

This procedure covers changing a driver's license both for technical reasons (change of personal data, expiration of validity) and in case of loss of the document.

  • Exchange of a vehicle registration certificate – UAH 950.

In the event of a change of ownership, registration of new vehicles, or change of any other data, car owners must pay this fee.

  • Apostille affixing – UAH 650.

An apostille is required to legalize documents used abroad, and it is a standard procedure for many Ukrainians.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Ukraine has also reduced the cost of delivery of documents – primarily passports – for citizens living abroad. Now it will cost $6 + 10 UAH VAT.
