New cars from 10,000 euros: Citroen has come up with something interesting
In the economies of developed countries, cheap cars are still popular. It seems that today their need is especially relevant. Citroen has figured out how to offer customers affordable cars and remain a profitable manufacturer.
The details are reported by Autocar. The company's management decided that the cheapest and most expensive models should be abandoned. The focus should be on the most marginal segments.
Citroen sees classes B and C as more profitable, and it is no longer worth developing larger cars. Therefore, the large 4.8-meter Citroen C5 X will not receive a successor. The company considers the model's sales satisfactory. But, all things considered, the fact is that the model is not very profitable.
For the same reason, they do not see economic sense in A-segment models – production costs are the same as for larger cars. The management emphasizes the price range from 10,000 to 20,000 euros.
Specific plans have not yet been disclosed, but it is emphasized that this range can be filled with interesting budget cars. They promise to surprise with formats, design, and conciseness.
