A satellite has taken a chilling photo of Hurricane Milton. In the image from space, powerful wind currents take the shape of a human skull before reaching Florida.

The Weather Channel's senior meteorologist Stu Ostro shared the terrifying photo on the X network. He also compared it to a similar image of Hurricane Matthew in 2016, DailyMail reports.

The ominous image appeared a few minutes before Milton hit Florida, killing at least nine people.

Meteorologist Stu Ostro compared Milton to Hurricane Matthew. In 2016, it hit Haiti as a category four storm, causing severe flooding, landslides, and infrastructure damage. More than 500 people died and tens of thousands fled their homes.

Another X network user, Storm Chaser Rob from Alabama, shared a satellite radar video of the Milton transforming into an ominous figure.

"We have a skull. It's a terrifying image. It sent chills down my spine. Hurricane Milton will be talked about for a long time to come," he wrote.
