How to preserve hot peppers for the winter: a spicy appetizer option for any occasion
If you have homegrown hot peppers, it is delicious to cover them for the winter. You will have an appetizer that will be a great addition to any dish. Those who like spice will especially like it.
The idea of making pickled hot peppers for the winter was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Alla with the nickname allasydora. It's a very simple marinade.
Ingredients:
- hot pepper – 1 kg.
- water – 1.5 liters
- salt – 1.5 tbsp
- sugar – 1.5 tbsp
- vinegar 9% – 3 tbsp.
- bay leaves, peppercorns, dill, garlic, and any favorite seasonings – to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Put the spices in sterilized jars.
2. Pierce the peppers with a fork in several places and put them in the jars.
3. Boil 1.5 liters of water and pour over the peppers in the jars.
4. Leave to warm up for 10 minutes.
5. Pour the water back into the pan.
6. Add sugar and salt.
7. Bring to a boil and add vinegar.
8. Pour the brine over the peppers and roll up the lids.
9. Turn over, wrap, and leave to cool.
10. Store in a cool place.
