The popular Netflix costume series "The Bridgertons" will soon get a new season. But until now, fans could only guess who it would be dedicated to.

And now, the official announcement of the fourth season has been made on the platform's official social media. And the cover was blown. Its main character will be the second son of the Bridgerton family, an aesthete and artist Benedict.

"Welcome to the marriage market, Benedict," the announcement reads. This means we will see the character's relationship with the mysterious lady Sophie Beckett. They will meet at a masquerade ball. Luke Thompson, the actor who plays the character, gets a costume for him in the announcement.

Fans of the series were divided on this choice. Most were happy with this choice of the main character. Benedict is called one of the most underrated characters who deserve to be revealed. However, some admit that they were waiting for the story of Elouise or some other member of the Bridgerton family.

However, everyone is still interested in the release date of the new episodes. However, it is not yet known when the fourth season of "The Bridgertons" will appear on Netflix. According to the project's screenwriter Shonda Rhimes, it usually takes two years to complete a full set of episodes. Since the third season was released last May, we shouldn't expect the premiere before 2026.

As you know, each season of the show focuses on one of the Bridgerton family members and tells about his or her relationships. In the premiere, viewers followed Daphne's tumultuous and somewhat toxic romance with the Duke of Hastings. The second was about the relationship between Anthony and Kate Sharma. And the third one centered on Colin, who was building a relationship with Penelope Featherington.
