The simplest Honey cake without rolling out cakes: how to make the cult dessert of generations in a simple way
Honey cake is a popular cake that can be a centerpiece of any family feast. Anyone who has ever been to any Ukrainian celebration will recognize this dessert. There are many variations of cooking, but if you use the following technology, you don't even have to roll out the cakes.
The idea of making an elementary Honey cake without rolling out cakes was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Albina with the nickname albik.food. The recipe includes a delicate and very airy cream based on sour cream and cream.
Ingredients for the dough:
- honey - 150 g
- butter - 180 g
- sugar - 100 g + vanilla sugar - 10 g
- eggs - 3 pcs. (add when the honey mass has cooled down so that the eggs do not boil)
- a pinch of salt
- baking soda - 1 tsp (7 g)
- flour - 400-450 g
Ingredients for the cream:
- cream 33 % - 500 g
- sour cream 20 % - 400 g
- Powdered sugar - 120-150 g
Method of preparation:
1. Combine honey, butter and sugar in a saucepan.
2. Put on the stove and bring to a boil. When the mass comes to a boil, boil for a minute.
3. Add baking soda and stir.
4. When the mass has cooled slightly, add the eggs and mix quickly.
5. Add the sifted flour in parts. The dough should be thick enough to slowly drip off the whisk.
6. Put a few spoons of dough on the parchment.
7. Flatten it a little and put it in the oven.
8. Leave the baked cake to cool slightly and cut out an even circle with a mold.
9. For the cream, whip the cream for 3 minutes.
10. Add powdered sugar and sour cream.
11. Mix at low speed. You should get an airy cream.
12. To assemble the cake: drizzle a little cream on a plate or a tray.
13. Put the cream on top and grease it with cream and the cake again - repeat until the end.
14. Cover the cake with cling film and place in the refrigerator for two hours.
15. Align the edges with the remaining cream and sprinkle with crumbs from the remaining cakes.
