When it gets really cold, you want to run away on vacation to a place where it's really warm and sunny. And even in Europe, there are such wonderful places.

According to the Express, the Portuguese island of Madeira offers just such an escape from the reality of the off-season. At the same time, there are not so many tourists in the center of the North Atlantic in November, and prices for accommodation and flights are falling.

The average temperature in November on the island is 21.7 degrees. This is why Madeira is called the island of eternal spring. In the last month of autumn, it remains pleasantly warm, although it may rain. This weather is ideal for long hikes through green hills and rocky landscapes. And also for a pleasant consumption of sweet wine while contemplating the local stunning scenery. This weather is maintained here thanks to the mountain microclimate and the warmth of the ocean waters.

The beaches of the island are scattered all along the coast, the most famous of which is Caleta. Some of them are sandy, but there are also rocky ones. The water is warm enough to swim, even in November. Madeira is famous for its rugged coastline and mountains, making it a great tropical vacation destination.

Be sure to plan a hike around the island. Lonely Planet recommends the Levada do Caldeirão Verde on the western tip of the island. This is a relatively easy 11.8 km round trip route that passes through a number of scenic spots, including a lagoon and a waterfall.

Or choose the equally popular Vereda da Ponta de São Lourenço. Its length is 7.2 km round trip. This route covers the driest, rocky eastern point of the island and includes the opportunity to dive into the ocean.

To immerse yourself in the culture of the archipelago, Madeira's capital Funchal offers visitors the opportunity to taste local wine. As well as visit numerous farmers' markets and learn about the island's history with Madeiran sugar, which is called "white gold".

To admire Madeira, you can use the Monte cable car. As you ascend, you'll enjoy spectacular views of the city. At the top, you will find the Monte Palace Madeira, a peaceful botanical garden with diverse flora, koi carp ponds, and unique exhibitions of African art.

If you love football, you should visit the CR7 Museum. There are many replicas of trophies and memorabilia of Madeira's most famous athlete, Cristiano Ronaldo.

There is something for everyone in Madeira, no matter what kind of adventure you are looking for or when you visit. However, November may give you the opportunity to catch the last warm sun of the season.
