The new budget model Renault Twingo E-Tech will revolutionize the European market thanks to modern technology and a very low price. The car has been officially declassified with an amazing design.

According to Motor1, a new Renault Twingo is being prepared for production in 2026 for less than 20,000 euros. This electric car will become very popular due to the unification of components with the more expensive Renault 5 model, which will cost at least 25,000 euros. The cars will reportedly be 70% identical in technical terms.

Volkswagen and Renault were considering a partnership to jointly develop low-cost cars, including the 4th generation Renault Twingo. However, the negotiations have officially ended. Renault previously confirmed the termination of negotiations and called it a missed opportunity. However, they emphasized that they are open to cooperation with other automakers.

A Chinese manufacturer has been selected as a partner to create a special brand called Ampere. The design and concept will be finalized in France, and technical development will be carried out in China. At the same time, production will take place on the European territory.

The Chinese partner has not yet been named. Production will be set up in Slovenia at a plant with a design capacity of 150,000 cars per year, which currently produces Renault Clio. Meanwhile, VW will independently develop a new low-cost electric model, which may appear by 2027.
