Rebrov talks about anger after failure at Euro 2024 and start in the Nations League
Head coach of the Ukrainian national football team Serhii Rebrov expects his players to take the Nations League matches seriously. On the eve of the opening match against Albania on September 7, the Blue and Yellows coach reminded that the tournament is one of the stages of qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
Rebrov said this in an interview with the press service of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF). The legendary striker added that after the failure at Euro 2024, the team must show anger and achieve the desired result.
"It is very important to demonstrate this anger and dissatisfaction with the result not only in training but also in matches. That's why we need to prove on the field in the League of Nations that we will try to achieve the result we didn't get at the Euros now. Now any game for the national team of Ukraine is very serious. I told the players about it. It doesn't matter what status the tournament has or whether it's a friendly. We got to the European Championship thanks to the League of Nations. The guys understand this. Even though these matches are close to friendly status, they give us a chance to get to the World Cup. We take this tournament very seriously," Rebrov said.
The match between Ukraine and Albania will take place in Prague. On September 10, the Blue and Yellows will play the Czech team there.
