One of the scariest spiders in Australia set a "trap" for a mother and child among the construction bricks. Photo of the poisonous "monster"
In Australia, a poisonous spider got into a child's room. When the kid and his mother started playing with Duplo bricks, they saw a terrible "monster".
The father of the family came running to hear his family scream. It turned out that it was a white-tailed spider, whose bite can cause burning blisters, vomiting, and headaches, writes DailyMail.
Rowan Blair was at home in Melbourne, Australia, when a scream from his child's room scared him out of his wits. The man immediately ran to find out what had happened.
"My wife was holding our 18-month-old daughter on her lap and she had just knocked a big Duplo box over on the floor before screaming in fear. I was probably more frightened by my wife's scream than by the spider," the excited man began his story.
"My wife went to get some napkins and when she came back, the spider was nowhere to be seen. We had to turn over each block of the construction set separately until we found the cube where the spider was hiding," continued Mr. Blair, 40.
The Australian took several photos of the spider. Rowan Blair did not immediately identify the species. But after looking at the picture, he realized that it was a white-tailed spider, a venomous species whose bite causes blisters, nausea, headaches, and in some cases necrosis, when skin tissue dies.
After sharing the photo with the spider's Facebook identification page, Rowan's suspicions were confirmed. "My initial instinct was that it was a black house spider. We have a lot of them on the outside of the house, high up in the corners of the eaves, but I hadn't seen any inside. But when I took a closer look, I assumed it was actually a white-tailed spider because it has a much longer and slimmer body," said the Australian.
The man admitted that after such an unpleasant discovery in the house, he thought about moving. "I preferred to move rather than kill it myself. However, my wife acted quickly and squashed the spider before I could think," he admitted.
Although the Blairs are used to seeing spiders, as there are many of them in Australia, the close encounter with the venomous species scared them. "The spider was quite large and shocked my family. We had to do a deep cleaning of the children's play area. My wife and I agreed that we live in Australia, where spiders are everywhere. If we see them as a potential threat to our young children, then I will calmly continue to get rid of them," Blair said.
