If you think you've seen everything in the capital, you are wrong. Kyiv can surprise for decades, revealing its charms. Today we offer you to look at the capital from a different angle and discover some atypical places for a walk.

Kyiv velodrome

It's hard to imagine, but Kyiv's velodrome is about to turn 100 years old. Many residents of the capital still ask where it is located. And they are even more surprised to hear that it is near the Zoloti Vorota metro station. It is unique because of its geometric shape: the track is 286 meters long, with a turn of 8 meters and a 38-degree angle. Its stands can accommodate up to 1 thousand fans. The Kyiv velodrome is still in Europe's top 10.

Khanenko Museum

The name of the museum may be familiar to you, but have you ever seen the unique collection of one of the most prestigious museums in Kyiv? The Khanenko Museum and its more than 40 thousand exhibits allow you to plunge into different eras, cultures and styles, comparing them and enjoying the artistic heritage of different countries. Follow the museum's program on its Facebook page; the art facility offers many thematic exhibitions and interesting excursions for both children and adults.

UFO-shaped building

The Lybidska metro station is distinguished by a gray building on the roof of which a "flying saucer" allegedly landed. At first glance, the building does not make you want to look inside, but curiosity will bring a positive result. Today it houses the State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine. The outdated UFO-shaped building houses a fairly modern spac for gaining new knowledge, developing and exchanging information. If you want to have a rather atmospheric walk, look at the saucer from the inside, drink delicious coffee on the 15th floor and satisfy your curiosity and inquisitiveness. Do not be afraid of the gray shabby entrance - there is a treasure behind it.

Waterfall between Korchuvate and Lysa Hora

Even those who are used to visiting Holosiivskyi Park every weekend don't always know this location. This is a place for a romantic picnic, striking Instagram photos, and moments dear to your heart. Kyiv Waterfall in the Pokol district was created artificially. Every season, the turbulent water changes its frame and atmosphere. Now an idealistic picture of autumn reigns here, so you should free your camera's memory beforehand.

Park Landscape Alley

A place that every visitor to the capital and lover of scenic walks should visit. Your goal will be not only to take a lot of autumn photos, but also to get acquainted with the works of Kostiantyn Skrytutskyi. The talented sculptor was able to turn one of Kyiv's "promenades" into a fabulous open-air museum where you will meet the Cheshire Cat, Alice from Wonderland herself, and the dreamy fox from The Little Prince. This is a place for both a family outing and personal inspiration. Despite the dilapidated state of some sculptures, you will enjoy Landscape Alley.
