Occupants shot civilians in Selydove: Prosecutor's Office launches investigation

In Donetsk region, Russian invaders killed civilians. In the town of Selydove, they shot a car with two people, one of them was wounded, and Ukrainian soldiers evacuated people from the area.

There was also information about the murder of two civilian women in the city by the invaders. The Donetsk regional prosecutor's office announced the launch of an investigation.

"Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation is being conducted in criminal proceedings on the facts of violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the statement said.

The proceedings were initiated after a number of Telegram channels reported on October 27, 2024, that Russians were killing civilians in Selidove.

In particular, the public shared videos showing the alleged shooting of a civilian car in the city with automatic weapons.

"During the attack, there were two citizens in the car, one of whom was wounded. After that, the Armed Forces of Ukraine arrived at the scene and, having dragged the victim away from the line of fire, provided him with first aid and evacuated the civilians from the area of fire. Preliminary, it happened on October 24, 2024," the regional prosecutor's office said.

There were also reports in the media that Russians killed two civilian women. Some online resources also reported the bodies of dead civilians in the private sector of Selidove, which was practically undamaged by shelling.

"That is, these killings took place after the enemy took control of these territories. Currently, urgent investigative (search) actions are being taken to establish all the circumstances of the events and identify the victims of the occupiers," the prosecutor's office summarized.

As a reminder, a few days ago it became known that the occupiers shot four captured National Guard soldiers near Selydove. Before the execution, they recorded the interrogation of wounded and unarmed Ukrainian soldiers.

The prosecutor's office opened proceedings over this serious war crime.
