Lazy strudel made from phyllo dough: a delicious recipe for every day
Strudel is a traditional Austrian dessert made from puff pastry or thin puff pastry with apple filling. You can also use ready-made dough purchased in the store. Thanks to this, the cooking time is significantly reduced and the strudel can be made almost every day.
Food blogger Liza Hlinska shared how to make a lazy strudel from phyllo dough on Instagram. She also showed how to prepare the most delicious apple filling.
Ingredients for 2 pieces
- Oil - 100-150 ml
- Philo dough - 400 gr
- Apples - 1 kg
- Butter - 50 gr
- Sugar - 100 gr
- Vanilla sugar or cinnamon
- Breadcrumbs - 30 g
- Raisins - 100 g
- Walnuts - 80 g
Method of preparation
1. Peel and stone the apples, and cut them into slices.
2. Stew the apples in a frying pan with butter to evaporate the moisture. Let the apples cool down.
3. Add the breadcrumbs with sugar and vanilla sugar.
4. Add the washed, dried raisins and roasted nuts.
5. For one strudel, take 4-5 sheets of phyllo dough, brush each with oil, and cover with another. Put the filling on the edge and form a roll.
6. Bake the strudel at 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
7. 2-3 minutes before baking, brush it with a little butter.
8. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving. Serve with a scoop of creamy ice cream.
