Easier than a Shuba salad: how to make delicious potato balls with herring for a festive table

If you're already tired of the usual Shuba salad for the New Year, you can prepare this dish in a different way. For example, make potato balls with herring. The formed products should be rolled in chopped greens, which looks very much like a Christmas tree.

The idea of making delicious potato balls with herring was published on the Instagram page of chef Olga Ryabenko. This appetizer will definitely impress all guests.

Ingredients:

  • potatoes (boiled or baked) - 3 pcs.
  • boiled egg - 1 pc.
  • herring - 1 pc.
  • processed cheese - 70 g
  • lemon zest -1/2 pcs.
  • salt, and pepper to taste
  • dill - 30 g
  • green onions - 2 pcs.

Method of preparation:

1. Boil or bake the potatoes and boil the egg.

2. Grate potatoes, egg, and melted cheese on a medium grater.

4. Add the chopped onion and grated zest.

5. Disassemble the herring into fillets.

6. Cut into small cubes and add to the whole mass.

7. Add salt and pepper.

8. Form balls. One ball is 1 tbsp.

9. Chop the dill finely and put it in a bowl.

10. Roll each ball in a dill.
