Real Madrid goalkeeper Andrii Lunin will not be able to help Ukraine's national team in the Nations League in the matches against Georgia (October 11) and the Czech Republic (October 14) due to illness. On the eve of his departure for the national team, the 25-year-old footballer was poisoned and stayed in the Spanish capital.
This is reported by the Ukrainian Football publication, refuting reports in the Spanish media that the goalkeeper deliberately refused to be called up to the national team. According to journalists, Lunin developed a viral infection as a result of the poisoning, and his temperature rose to 39.5. The Ukrainian also experienced nausea and continues to feel unwell.
As a result, Andrii is not able to play for the national team, or even participate in the training process. The doctors of the Madrid superclub and the Ukrainian national team are in constant contact. The goalkeeper is expected to return to the Blue and Yellows camp in November.
