The whole of Russia "buried" Zaluzhnyi and "infected" Europe for three weeks: the whole world laughed at the fakes of the Russian media
In May, Russian propaganda made great efforts to discredit Ukraine, destabilise the situation in our country, and demoralise our soldiers. However, the enemy has not achieved anything but laughter and a new portion of shame.
Read the OBOZREVATEL article to find out what sick fantasies the occupation public and Russian media have been spreading.
How Ukrainian Armed Forces commanders were "killed"
In May, Russian resources reported on the deaths of the Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Commander of the Territorial Defence Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ihor Tantsiura, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi.
The false information, which was aimed at psychologically influencing and demoralising Ukrainians, was quickly refuted.
"On the one hand, it's easy to check and refute. That's exactly what we did. On the other hand, we need to understand that the Russians are prone to false starts, and often their information front workers issue information without receiving confirmation from the direct executors," said Deputy Minister of Defence Anna Mariar
She stressed that during the war, the enemy will be interested in destroying our military and political leadership. "And the issue of their personal security is now of strategic importance," the Deputy Defence Minister said.
The aggressor country, of course, paid special attention to Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, who inspires fear in the occupiers and their henchmen with his steadfastness. The propagandists claimed that the head of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "sustained a head injury and shrapnel wounds as a result of a Russian missile strike on a command post near Kherson in early May", that he "underwent a skull trepanation", that he "will never be able to walk", and similar nonsense.
And then Z-channels began to distribute a photo of the allegedly "dead Zaluzhnyi", but it was a misfortune - it turned out to be their dead compatriot, the Russian occupier.
On May 20, General Zaluzhnyi participated in the opening of an international conference in Odesa via video link, but this did not convince the Russians either. And when Ukrainian Armed Forces officer Anatoliy Shtefan ("Stirlitz") posted two videos on his Telegram channel with the commander-in-chief full of energy and smiling, Russian propagandists, trying to save face, continued to claim that "this is junk". However, there are very few of them left.
And this is despite the fact that Stefan said the date of May 25 during the first recording. No comment here, as they say.
70 "dead saboteurs"
After a raid by the Russian Volunteer Corps and the Freedom of Russia Legion in the Belgorod region, the disgraced Russian Ministry of Defence decided to "kill" as many as "70 saboteurs" in one fell swoop.
The bodies of several of the killed were presented in only one photo, and it turned out to have been taken long ago in the Luhansk region, not on the territory of the Russian Federation. The Russian Ministry of Defence was unable to provide any identifying information about the "dead saboteurs".
In this way, the Ministry of Defence tried to reduce the degree of tension among Russians, who suddenly realised that neither the vaunted FSB nor the military was capable of keeping the border locked and protecting their compatriots.
"Explosion" in the Pentagon
The Russian segment of Telegram and VK began to post joyful messages and photos of a powerful explosion allegedly near one of the buildings of the US Ministry of Defence. This photo was later published by Rossiyskaya Gazeta, the Russian Defence Ministry's Zvezda TV channel, Russia Today and other aggressor country's "media". The fact that the photo was fake was obvious to the naked eye - apparently, it was generated by a neural network.
And despite the fact that the information about the explosion was quickly denied in the United States, Russian propagandists continued to spread this fake.
"Radiation" in Ukraine and Poland
After the missile attacks on Ternopil and Khmelnytskyi (13 and 14 May), a real bacchanalia began in Russia. As if on cue, reports began to appear that the "great and powerful" Russian army had destroyed "the largest storage facilities for Western aid to Ukraine" - including allegedly depleted uranium shells. Panic began to spread, saying that the population needed to be evacuated urgently, otherwise "everyone would die".
However, the radiation level "increased" only in the fantasies of Russian propagandists; in fact, it remained normal, which is easy to track thanks to online monitoring services.
Nevertheless, the Russians persistently tried to "drive the wave". "The occupiers' special units are conducting an information and psychological operation aimed at causing panic among Ukrainians. They also left comments in Ternopil and Khmelnytsky chats, posing as locals, but they failed miserably," an intelligence source told OBOZREVATEL.
The Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Nikolai Patrushev, joined the "pollution" campaign. At a meeting in Syktyvkar, he said that "as a result of the destruction of depleted uranium ammunition at the warehouses in Khmelnytsky, a radioactive cloud has formed over Ukraine, which is now moving westwards". He also stated that "an increase in radiation has already been recorded in Poland".
Despite the frightening "predictions" of the representative of the occupying country, everything turned out to be completely different. As they say, who would have doubted it.
"Dangerous viruses"
One of the Russians' favourite topics is biolabs on the territory of Ukraine, where "very scary research" was allegedly carried out.
Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the head of the Russian Armed Forces' radiation, chemical and biological defence troops, has announced that "further evidence of US biological weapons development in Ukraine has been discovered".
According to Kirillov, documents allegedly seized from the laboratory of the Ukrainian biosphere reserve Askania-Nova (located in the Russian-occupied part of the Kherson region) indicate the "participation" of of the Kharkiv Institute of Veterinary Medicine in American bird flu research projects, with the Pentagon, of course, being named as the research customer.
"The Russian Defence Ministry's task force, together with the Federal Security Service and Rosselkhoznadzor, confirmed the collection and certification of avian influenza virus strains with high epidemic potential and the ability to cross the interspecies barrier, in particular, the H5N8 strain, which can be as lethal as 40 per cent when transmitted to humans," Kirillov lied out of the blue.
In fact, the ability of H5N8 to cross the interspecies barrier is extremely low, and the mortality rate during human transmission is zero. That is, this strain is safe. As for the next "discovered biolabs", there is nothing to comment on.
We will see what else Russian propaganda will come up with in the near future. Against the backdrop of failures at the front, the occupiers have only this to do.
