During the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Sunday, November 27, Spanish fans unfurled a large Ukrainian flag with the symbols of the Azov Regiment during the Spain-Germany match. Famous Ukrainian footballer Roman Zozulya posted photos from the stands on his Instagram.

According to the Fuenlabrada player, FIFA representatives appeared a few minutes later and removed the flag because it "violates some standards in their heads and is allegedly banned".

"The whole world has been watching the titanic confrontation between our defenders of Mariupol with admiration. The whole world sees who is a terrorist country and whose military are occupiers, criminals, terrorists, sadists and prisoners. But the 'zombified' FIFA sees and hears nothing," Zozulya wrote indignantly.

Roman expressed hope that the UAF and the Ministry of Youth and Sports would respond to this "shameful behaviour of FIFA representatives".

"And those unicellular organisms that forbade us to raise our flag in the stands will apologise and eventually learn the history of the issue not from the Kremlin's darkrooms," Zozulya concluded.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the match of the 2nd round of the 2022 World Cup between Spain and Germany ended in a 1-1 draw. Thus, the Bundestim retained its chances of reaching the playoffs.
