"Not a single Ukrainian was touched": Russian Olympic champion outraged by Russia's deprivation of World Cup

Legendary ice hockey goalkeeper Vladislav Tretiak is outraged that Russia has been deprived of the right to host the 2023 World Youth and World Adult Championships. The three-time Olympic winner criticised the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), which deemed it dangerous to organise the tournament in the aggressor country.

Tretiak said this in a commentary to the Voronezh propaganda TV and radio company. The former hockey player cynically stated that not a single Ukrainian had suffered in Russia, forgetting about war crimes, especially against children, and called the situation in the country absolutely safe.

"How can it be, we have 55 players playing in North America, no one touches them, and you don't allow us to hold the World Cup in Omsk and Novosibirsk. We built special rinks. They say it's about security, but what security - not a single Ukrainian has been hurt, everything is calm in the country. No, security is all they say. In general, excuses," said Tretyak.

Earlier, another famous hockey player, Vyacheslav Fetisov, called the suspension of Russian athletes from international competitions arbitrary, saying that "there are more than 25 conflicts in the world today, but for some reason it all came down to one that concerns our country."

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Ilya Averbukh, the vice-champion of the Olympic figure skating games, called the IOC's demands that Russian athletes should condemn the war in Ukraine "interference in their personal lives".
