It will be like new: how to clean a transparent phone case

A transparent case for your smartphone is a good solution if you've chosen a gadget of a beautiful color or a special design. But such a case has a drawback: it turns yellow over time. Fortunately, you can get rid of this yellowing.

As OBOZREVATEL has found out, it can be done with the help of quite affordable means, which you can find in almost every home.

Dishwashing detergent

To use this product, mix a few drops with enough warm water to immerse the cover completely. Take an old toothbrush and scrub all surfaces, holes, and corners of the case with the solution. After cleaning, rinse the item thoroughly to remove any soap suds. Finally, wipe it dry and let it air dry completely. Make sure there is not a drop of moisture left on it before putting it back on your smartphone.

Baking soda

This popular cleaner works well because of its abrasiveness. It can also dissolve dirt and grease when combined. To take advantage of the benefits of baking soda, remove the case from your phone, moisten it with water, sprinkle baking soda on both sides and place it on a towel. Next, rub the item inside and out with a damp toothbrush. Make circular motions and pay special attention to heavily soiled areas. After cleaning, rinse and dry the case thoroughly.

White vinegar

Baking soda works even better when combined with white vinegar. To use the power of both, place the empty case in a deep container and press it down with something heavy. Sprinkle the item with two tablespoons of baking soda, and then slowly pour one cup of distilled white vinegar over the top. If the case is not completely submerged, add more vinegar. Leave the case to soak in the vinegar for several hours. After that, rinse it well and don't forget to dry it.

Alcohol

Rubbing alcohol will not only clean the case but also disinfect it, as it is in constant contact with your hands and is obviously contaminated with microorganisms. Apply rubbing alcohol to a microfiber cloth or use a ready-made alcohol wipe. Wipe the front and back of the case and all openings and corners. Then wipe off any remaining alcohol with a dry microfiber cloth. Alcohol dries quickly enough, but give the case time to lie in the open air before putting it back on your smartphone.
