Is there no panic? Occupants in Crimea dug up the beach and built fortifications there
Russian occupiers in Crimea continue to prepare for a counter-offensive by the Ukrainian Defence Forces. In the village of Novovidradne near Kerch, the invaders dug up the beach and installed fortifications there.
This was reported by Vyacheslav Nazarov, a spokesman for the Southern Operational Command, on Telegram. Relevant photos were also published by the Crimean Wind Telegram channel.
They show a concrete fortification and sandbags right on the beach. The objects were placed so as to have an open view of the sea. Obviously, the occupiers expect the Ukrainians to attack from there.
"There is no panic. We are just preparing for the holiday season," Nazarov said ironically.
In turn, the head of the Joint Press Centre of the Southern Defence Forces, Nataliya Gumenyuk, noted that Ukraine is serious about regaining its territories, including the temporarily occupied Crimea. Therefore, the defenders will continue the "cotton season" on the peninsula, which Russia has turned into its military base since 2014.
According to her, the Ukrainian military will not allow the Russians to return because the "cotton season" has already begun, and the soldiers are not going to "lull" their enemies either.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported:
- On March 24, residents of the temporarily occupied Sevastopol in Crimea were alarmed by another "cotton". It was loud in the local bay, but the occupation "authorities" of the city hastened to reassure the population, claiming that it was allegedly "preventive" work;
- On March 20, the occupiers' railway junction in Dzhankoy was attacked by drones. This attack demonstrated that the Russian Federation is unable to defend the occupied peninsula, and potentially its mainland, with air defence.
