How to clean your TV screen correctly and safely: a useful life hack
Over time, dust and dirt accumulate on any surface. Some of them can be wiped off with a regular cloth, while others require special detergents, but the TV screen is a delicate surface that requires special care.
Improper cleaning can lead to scratches or other damage to the coating. OBOZ.UA tells you how to clean your TV screen correctly and safely.
Dust, dirt, and fingerprints periodically accumulate on the screens, which can distort the image quality and worsen the viewing experience. Therefore, it is recommended to clean them daily, because the longer the dirt remains on the surface, the harder it is to remove.
Turn off the TV and unplug it from the power outlet
Since liquid and electrical appliances are not compatible, it is best to turn off the TV before cleaning. Besides, dust and dirt are much more visible on a black screen when it's off.
Remove dust with a soft, dry cloth
You can use a microfiber cloth or a special cloth for cleaning optics. Never use hard brushes or paper towels, as they can scratch the screen.
Use water or a vinegar solution to remove stains
Dampen a cloth with water, wring it out well, and wipe the screen. If water can't get all the dirt off, mix distilled water and vinegar 1:1 and use the solution as a cleaning agent.
Dry the screen with a dry cloth
After the procedure, wipe the screen again with a dry microfiber cloth to remove any remaining moisture.
Also, remember to follow the following rules when cleaning:
- The cloth should be damp, not wet;
- No pressure should be applied to the TV screen;
- Do not use detergents in any case.
