In 2025, the first flying car will take to the air in the USA. Alef Aeronautics received a license for this innovation.

It was reported on the site Autoevolution. The cost of pre-order of such a car starts from 300 thousand dollars. The car will be able both to drive on the ground and to fly.

Alef Aeronautics, the manufacturer of the flying car, has received a special airworthiness certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This means that the company has received permission to conduct road and air tests of its vehicle.

"We are very pleased to receive this certification from the FAA," Alef CEO Jim Duchovny, who co-founded the company in 2015, said in a statement.

The co-founders, Konstantin Kisly, Pavel Markin and Oleg Petrov, were inspired by the movie "Back to the Future II," in which Marty McFly goes to 2015. That's when the development of the car began.

Alef Aeronautics presents an all-electric car that can travel up to 320 km without the need to recharge. This car can fit in a regular garage, but also has the ability to take off vertically and fly up to 180 km. The company also claims to be developing a version of the car with a hydrogen engine.

Buyers can pre-order the vehicle, which seats up to two people and is expected to cost about $300,000. Alef Aeronautics unveiled the car last October. The company said it has already received "a large number of pre-orders."

Note that Jim Duchovny comes from a family of Kyiv Jews. He founded Alef Aeronautics with the goal of creating one of the first mass-market, zero-emission flying cars.
