British intelligence explained why Wagner mercenaries went to Belarus without heavy equipment

Wagner soldiers probably handed over their equipment to the Russian Armed Forces

Several thousand mercenaries of the Russian PMC "Wagner" have already settled in the military camp in Tsel, Belarus. However, the militants arrived without heavy military equipment, as it was probably transferred to the Russian Defense Ministry.

This assumption was made in the summary of British intelligence, published on Twitter by the Ministry of Defense of Britain. It noted that satellite images from July 19, 2023, show that the previously virtually empty site today accommodated about 300 tents and 200 vehicles.

According to separate reports, most of the visible vehicles are trucks and vans and several armored combat vehicles.

"It remains unclear what happened to the heavy equipment that Wagner used in Ukraine. There is a real possibility that they were forced to return it to the Russian military," the summary noted.

Intelligence officers believe that now the ability of the PMC "Wagner" to provide themselves with heavy equipment and air transportation will be a key factor in their future combat effectiveness.

To remind, the State Security Service of Ukraine reported that about 5 thousand mercenaries of the Russian PMC "Wagner" are currently located in Belarus. The arrival of the occupants continues, with Belarus authorities providing infrastructure and training grounds.

However, no movement of occupation troops near the border with Ukraine has been recorded so far. Our border guards assure that the situation is fully controlled.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL:

- Tt became known that the twelfth column of mercenaries from the PMC "Wagner" accompanied by armored vehicles arrived in Belarus on July 27. The convoy included at least 50 units of automotive equipment;
