How to get rid of unpleasant odor in the washing machine
Even the most fragrant laundry detergent can sometimes fail to hide the unpleasant odor that occasionally emanates from the washing machine. The problem can have several causes: mold growth, a clogged filter, or lime or soap scum in the mechanism. Whatever the cause, there is an easy way to freshen up the smell.
The Express publication told us about this life hack. You only need two simple and inexpensive products: baking soda and white vinegar.
To properly clean the machine from the inside, you need to start washing it from the outside. First, remove and rinse the filter and wipe the rubber seal in the door properly. Then set the program to the maximum temperature and use baking soda and vinegar. It will be enough to take one glass of each of these substances.
The soda is poured directly into the drum, but the vinegar should be poured into the detergent compartment as if poured in the drum, the acidic liquid can damage the metal from which it is made. In this case, the wash cycle is started with an empty tank. The combination of these two substances can damage fabrics, but it will clean the machine well.
To prevent clogging of the washing machine, this cleaning can be done regularly. For example, once every 2-4 weeks.
