Shakshuka is a hearty dish based on poached eggs with tomato paste or tomatoes, bell peppers, and always spicy spices. It's perfect for a hearty breakfast for the whole family.

Food blogger Valeriia Yaroshkevych (lera_yaroshkevych) shared a recipe for egg shakshuka on her Instagram page.

  • chicken eggs - 4 pcs.
  • tomatoes - 4 pcs
  • sweet onions - 1 pc
  • sweet pepper or chili pepper - 1 pc
  • garlic - 1 clove
  • olive oil - 1 tsp
  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • salt
  • chopped parsley or cilantro

Method of preparation:

1. Chop the onion and fry it until transparent.

2. Chop and add garlic. Fry for 2-3 minutes.

3. Dice the peppers and tomatoes. First, add the pepper to the pan and cook for 4-6 minutes. Then add the tomatoes and cook for another 5 minutes. Add all the necessary spices as desired.

4. Once the vegetables are done, make small holes in the center with a spoon and crack the eggs in. Cook for 5-7 minutes. It's ready!
