An elementary minced meat pie without rolling out the dough: what to make

If you have minced meat and don't have time to make cutlets, make a pie. You don't have to knead the dough because you can use filo. It wraps perfectly and bakes quickly enough.

The idea of making an elementary mince pie without rolling out the dough was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Vitalina Vorotniuk (vita_vorotniuk). The dish is very simple and satisfying.

Ingredients:

  • phyllo dough - 400 g
  • butter - 80 g
  • eggs - 4 pcs
  • kefir - 140 ml

Ingredients for the filling:

  • minced meat - 500 g
  • onion - 1 pc
  • garlic - 1 clove
  • parsley - 5 g
  • butter - 20 g
  • thyme - 0.5 tsp.
  • paprika - 0.5 tsp
  • ground pepper - 0.5 tsp
  • nutmeg - 0.25 tsp.
  • salt

Method of preparation:

1. For the filling, fry the onion in butter until soft.

2. Add the minced meat and fry until golden brown.

3. Add salt, pepper, garlic and other spices. Cover with a lid.

4. Preheat over low heat for two minutes.

5. Let the minced meat cool and add chopped parsley.

6. Melt the butter in the microwave or in a water bath.

7. For the filling, break the eggs, add kefir at room temperature. Add salt. Stir.

8. Put the phyllo dough sheets on the table. Prepare a damp towel in advance to cover the sheets you are not working with. The sheets dry out in the air and become unusable in two minutes.

9. Brush the first baking sheet with melted butter and put it in the baking dish. (Or you can put it in the dish first and then brush it).

10. Put the sheets crosswise. Grease each with butter. Put 4 sheets in total. Then pour half the minced meat.

11. Put the phyllo sheets with the filling, then squeeze them a little and put them on the minced meat.

12. Pour the other half of the minced meat. Cover it with the tips of the phyllo.

13. Brush with butter.

14. Cut the remaining sheets to the diameter of the mold. Cover the cake with them. Brush with butter. Pour the rest of the filling on top.

15. Put in a preheated oven at 190 degrees for 25-35 minutes until golden brown.

16. After cooking, let the pie cool down and put it on a plate. Serve with greens if desired.
