Volodymyr Bebeshko and Levko Durko, Anna and Alina Zavalski. The most famous siblings who conquered Ukrainian show business

The most famous siblings who conquered Ukrainian show business

When siblings are very similar to each other, grow up in a creative family, or have the same dream of becoming successful and famous, it is often the two (or more) of them who achieve what they want. Hollywood can boast of the Olsen sisters and the Baldwin brothers, and Bella and Gigi Hadid have conquered many catwalks and glossies. However, Ukrainian showbiz also has famous family duos.

Sometimes relatives choose to build their careers separately, but for the most part, they still succeed in tandem. OBOZ.UA decided to recall the famous siblings among Ukrainian celebrities.

Anna and Anhelina Zavalski

The band Alibi, which included two bright brunette sisters, was formed in April 2001. Anna and Anhelina became extremely famous. In 2002, they released their debut album "Two Tears". The duo boasts a string of hits, but now the sisters are not as media-friendly as they once were. In 2012, they took a break from their music career because they both became mothers and decided to spend more time with their families than on stage.

Anna and Anhelina also tried their hand at solo performances but eventually realized that they were stronger together. Now the Zavalski's perform in a duo with a slightly changed name, The Alibi Sisters. They give charity concerts, the proceeds from which go to the needs of the Armed Forces. The singers continue to release Ukrainian-language songs, including the song "Beloved" by Igor Poklad. And on Valentine's Day, February 14 this year, the sisters surprised their fans with a translation of this song into Yiddish.

Borysenko brothers

If you watched "The Star Factory 3" in 2009, you won't argue that young Vova and Sasha Borysenko were one of the most striking contestants of that season. The two 17-year-old charming blond vocalists from Dnipro captivated Ukrainian audiences. They took fourth place at The Factory and cemented their place in the Ukrainian showbiz. After that, they released several tracks that became undisputed hits, followed by a prolonged silence and their final disappearance from the scene.

Today, Volodymyr and Oleksandr are 31 years old. They no longer make music or appear on television, but they occasionally remind us of themselves by appearing on various YouTube shows. In a recent interview with Slava Demin, Vova said: "I am now a creative copywriter in the creative industries. I come up with ideas." His brother Sasha revealed in the same interview that he is now engaged in editing and design.

Volodymyr Bebeshko and Levko Durko

Little Volodymyr and Leontii grew up in a creative atmosphere. As children, they formed the Bebeshko Trio together with their father. Their father played the accordion, their older brother played the keys, and their younger brother played the drums. When the boys grew up and their father passed away, their thirst for music did not disappear. Leontiy began his singing career at the age of 40, releasing the hit song "I'm Going to Yugoslavia" in 1989 under the pseudonym Levko Durko. It is under this name that Ukrainians know the singer of the funny songs Leontii Bebeshko. But the younger Volodymyr became a successful producer, whom everyone remembers well from the Chance project.

Currently, Levko Durko leads a non-public lifestyle and rarely appears in the media. Volodymyr Bebeshko, on the other hand, remains more active. He gives interviews in which he comments on the positions of certain stars with whom he has worked.

The Petryk sisters

Since the age of four, Victoriia Petryk has been conquering Ukraine and Europe with her vocals. In 2008, she represented our country at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, where she took second place. The Ukrainian girl lacked only 6 points to win. Victoria became widely known for her participation in the show "Ukraine's Got Talent" (STB). Her younger sister Anastasiia joined her at the audition, and the judges suggested that they continue their journey on the project together. That's how Ukrainians learned about the Petryk sisters. In 2012, Anastasia also had the opportunity to defend Ukraine's honor at Junior Eurovision. Back then, the talented girl brought home the victory.

However, this seemingly brilliant start to their careers did not become a golden ticket to the future for the sisters. As children, they conquered many venues both in Ukraine and Europe, but they never became successful solo artists as adults. It is known that Victoriia married a man who is probably 20 years older than her and is involved in illegal activities. At the age of 19, she gave birth to her first child, and after the full-scale invasion moved to Spain, where she sometimes performs at corporate events with Russian repertoire. Meanwhile, Anastasiia moved with her mother to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

TAYANNA and Misha Marvin

Tetiana and Mykhailo Reshetniak were born in Chernivtsi in 1984 and 1989, respectively. The siblings have had a talent for music since childhood, so they decided to pursue it. Tetyana became famous as the lead singer of the band Horiachyi Shokolad, and later built a successful solo career under the pseudonym TAYANNA, releasing such hits as Fantastic Woman, Lelia, and others.

As for Misha Marvin, since 2015 he has been working with the famous Russian label Black Star, whose leader was an ardent Putinist and Z-patriot Timati. However, after the full-scale invasion, the Ukrainian left Moscow severed ties with the pro-Putin company, and even condemned the aggressor, supporting his native country. But the star's "patriotism" did not last long. Already in September 2022, the musician announced that he had returned to Black Star, and thus to Russia, and retracted all his words in support of Ukraine. Now he lives in the Russian Federation, quietly touring Russian cities, entertaining the local audience, and does not seem to care that these people support the genocide of his people.
