Two separate photos? King Frederick X of Denmark and his wife are also caught up in the Photoshop scandal

Netizens have accused Queen Mary and King Frederik X of Denmark of using Photoshop. The couple recently published their first official portrait after the monarch ascended the throne on January 14, 2024.

Attentive supporters of the royals are sure that the picture was edited. This was reported by the Daily Mail.

The portrait shows Queen Mary wearing a dark green dress made of velvet and lace together. Her image is adorned with a set of emerald jewels. His Majesty is dressed in the ceremonial uniform of the navy.

Many of the monarchs' supporters were delighted with the photograph, but there were also those who questioned its authenticity. Eagle-eyed fans argued that the image of the Queen was a separate portrait, with Mary's palm placed in front of Frederick as the main proof.

Users shared their thoughts in the comments:

"Nice photo, but another digitally enhanced royal photo."

"Is it photoshopped? I mean, like they were photographed separately and then put together? Mary looks exquisite and Frederick, the King looks like he just rolled out of bed."

"It looks like Queen Mary was added to Frederick's photo. The position of the hands is identical."

The palace confirmed that the photo was genuine and claimed that "the official gala portrait of the Royal Household was not faked." Many argued that any photoshopping would have made sense given the recent rumors of an affair by then-Prince Frederick. The monarch was spotted in Spain with socialite Genova Kazanova last year.

This is not the first time the royal family has been caught up in a Photoshop scandal. In early March 2024, a scandal erupted over a photo of Kate Middleton with her children. The princess admitted that she had indeed edited the photo.
