Hollywood actor Timothy Chalamet unexpectedly appeared at his own lookalike contest, which took place the day before in New York. Fans dressed as the star were surprised to see the real actor.

Surrounded by bodyguards, the celebrity posed for photos with his "lookalikes," many of whom were dressed as Willy Wonka and Paul Atreides, the characters Chalamet played in the films Wonka and Dune. The event was one of several fan contests organized by YouTube blogger Anthony Poe. After the information about the event spread on social media, thousands of people agreed to participate in the event, which promised $50 to the winner. This was reported by The Guardian.

Chalamet sneaked through the crowd, hiding behind a mask and a baseball cap, and then approached the two lookalikes who were posing for photos. The audience was shocked by the unexpected appearance of their idol.

A few minutes after the contest began, police ordered a large crowd to leave Washington Square Park, and the organizers were issued a $500 fine for "unauthorized costume contest." At least one participant was taken away in handcuffs, although the police did not immediately provide a reason for the detention. "It started as a silly joke, and now it's turned into a pogrom," said Paige Nguyen, a producer for the organizer.

After the participants had to move to another location, the winner was announced. In the end, it was 21-year-old Miles Mitchell from Staten Island, dressed as Willy Wonka, who threw candy from his briefcase into the crowd.
