The pro-Ukrainian singer Laima Vaikule's business in Russia has been taken away from her: partner files lawsuit
Latvian singer Laima Vaikule, who for many years built her career in Russia, but after the start of the full-scale invasion supported Ukrainians and condemned the Kremlin's terrorist policy, was deprived of her business in the aggressor country. The artist founded the company "Lima-Lux Rus" together with her partner Shiraz Mammadov in the early 2000s, but the man decided to take over the entire enterprise.
The relevant information appeared in the Russian media. It is noted that the artist's partner filed a lawsuit against her to take away all property rights.
"Laima-Lux Rus" is engaged in the management of beauty salons in the Russian Federation, as well as the sale of cosmetics, furniture, and accessories. After the outbreak of a full-scale war, Laima Vaikule decided to transfer her 49% stake in the company to Shiraz Mammadov. However, this was not enough for the businessman, so in September 2024, he filed a lawsuit against the artist to remove her name from the company's co-founders.
The trial lasted almost six months, and as a result, Mamedov became the sole owner of Lime-Lux Rus. As a result, the Latvian celebrity will no longer be able to profit from the company's operations.
It's worth noting that in the first days of the bloody full-scale war that Russia started on the territory of Ukraine, Laima Vaikule openly supported Ukrainians. At her concerts, she often tries to avoid performing Russian-language songs, and translates most of the lyrics into Latvian. However, sometimes the singer also performs tracks in Ukrainian.
This position of the star causes great irritation among Russians, so they never tire of inventing various lies about her. Recently, Z-propagandists decided to express their "expert" opinion on Vaikule's work, which, according to them, is not needed by anyone. The Russians made such assumptions after the artist's concert was canceled. They decided to gloat over this development, creating news with the headlines:: "Europe strikes again", "Bandera is unnecessary", "No more chances", "No one wanted to come", "Vaikule disgraced herself in Spain", etc.
